Nomad Greenland and The Healing House Project Announce Partnership to Further Greenlandic Spiritual Traditions

PRESS RELEASEFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- NUUK, GREENLAND — 12 January 2026 —Nomad Greenlaan

Nomad Greenland ApS, a Greenlandic-owned travel company specializing in small-scale, place-based experiences, and The Healing House Project, a Greenlandic-led initiative founded by Aviaja Rakel Sanimuinaq Kristiansen, a renowned Greenlandic angakkoq (traditional Inuit spiritual practitioner), are pleased to announce a partnership to protect and further Greenland’s living spiritual traditions and ancestral wisdom.

The Healing House Project was founded by Aviaja to bring Greenland’s first non-commercial, spirit-led healing house to life. The healing house is envisioned as a permanent space where traditional Inuit healing can take place in silence, through ritual, and with deep cultural integrity. It is intended as a place of refuge and reconnection, particularly in Greenland, where many continue to live with the effects of historical and intergenerational disruption.

“Too many of our people carry pain that has no place to land,” says Aviaja, whose practice is rooted in ancestral teachings passed through generations.“This house is for them — a place where we can remember who we are, and begin to restore what was broken.”

Nomad Greenland is investing time, funding, and operational support into making this vision a reality. As part of the collaboration, Nomad Greenland hosts small spiritual retreats guided by Aviaja and held deep in the wilderness of Kiattua. The retreat is designed as a quiet, immersive gathering rooted in Inuit spiritual practice and the Arctic landscape. A portion of the retreat proceeds contributes to the development of the healing house.

“This is our land, our stories, and our responsibility,” says Anika Krogh, a native Greenlander and CEO and co-founder of Nomad Greenland.“This is not about looking back,” she adds. “It’s about returning to something essential — something our culture has always known: that healing is not separate from community, land, or spirit.”
